PARTNERSHIP

We trust in the importance of engaging new generations, because they will drive the change of our future.

Therefore, we believe that partnering with Universities is key to engage and motivate young people in non-profit projects.

LOCAL EDUCATION

Many developing countries still lack basic infrastructure and facilities to provide effective learning environments.  Sub-Saharan Africa faces the biggest challenges: at the primary and lower secondary levels, more than half of schools do not have access to basic drinking water, waste management systems, electricity and basic material.

Investing in education brings other indirect benefits:

Gender equality: woman and girls are responsible for water collection in 80% of households without access to water on-permises

Health and education: around the world, up to 442 million school days are lost every day because of water related illness

Economy: every $1 invested in water and toilets returns an average of $4 in increased productivity

U-SCHOOL:  We are working on projects to enhance local education and bring an inclusive environment... More news coming soon.

IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON

In 2019, we collaborated with Imperial College London and InAGlobe to address the global issue of  providing basic drinking water access. Our aim was to design a robust modular water treatment plant with low maintenance and low energy requirements that could be leveraged to locations without access to clean drinking water.

In 3 months, working together with 10 students from the Department of Civil Engineering, we developed our water treatment system, based on a “In the box” concept. A ready to use, compact water treatment system that can be operated in absence of electricity and that requires extremely low maintenance.  This allowed us to bring a reliable source of clean water to areas were others couldn’t.

We are now working in developing and framing new projects within the academic community.

UNIVERSITAT ROVIRA I VIRGILI - TARRAGONA

In September 2020, a new project started in collaboration with the University of Tarragona.

Often, children in Sub-Saharan Africa miss classes and contract diseases due to the absence of clean drinking water. Usually, their only source of water comes from a nearby lake/river which often gets contaminated with organic matters due to the lack of wastewater facilities in the area. Every day the children have to walk to get the water needed to cook their meals, rinse the dishes, shower and most importantly drink.

The project is a collaboration based on the needs of an NGO which aims to improve the quality of the children's education under their umbrella by fulfilling one of their most basic needs, the access to clean water.

The final goal is to design a sustainable water treatment system based on ultrafiltration technology, that can be used with a rough variety of raw waters, which is compact, requires an extremely low maintenance and can be use off-grid.

Once the project is successful and the funds are made available, the project will be installed in a school based in Kenya!
